I was in a shop last night buying some chewing gum when the man behind the counter asked me if I would like a Creme Egg with my purchase. I had to smile to myself, because little did he know that we work with Cadbury and in fact have an ample supply of Creme Eggs at the ready to send to goo-loving journalists on request (only those who plan to write about them, mind!)
I was very impressed at his sell though, especially because there are only nine days left until the end of this yearâs Goo Season, after which we will have to wait until New Yearâs Day 2011 for the factory to start producing again. Gooo! – I mean booo! Â
As Easter Sunday approaches, the nation is getting their goo fill in every which way possible: Creme Eggâs first ever iPhone app – Scramble the Egg –  recently shot into the UK free app download charts at number one with an incredible 400,000 downloads at the iPhone* store. Creme Eggâs online games have proven âegg-stremelyâ popular with approximately 130,000 unique users visiting www.cremeegg.com a month and the online competition has had nearly 161,000 entries to date.
In addition to Scramble the Egg – an interactive app which invites users to shake a virtual Creme Egg around the screen, until the egg becomes so excited it bursts its goo all over the screen â a second app, called Egg Marks the Spot, encourages people to visit one of 38 landmarks in the UK and Ireland, including Edinburgh Castle and the London Eye. This app uses the iPhone’s GPS to guide people to their nearest landmark, where they must use their camera phone to take a picture of the landmark. A Creme Egg is then superimposed over the picture and users can move it around the screen.
Both apps are free to download and â unlike the cheeky little fellows themselves â will continue to be available at www.apple.com long after the factory belt has come to a halt. Gooâd news! To join in the fun go to www.cremeegg.com for plenty more games and your chance to win daily prizes.   And remember, your country needs goo!
