Whilst we love winning awards for our client work, once in a while we stick our heads above the parapet and enter ourselves for awards to see how we measure up to our peers. So it was an unexpected Bank Holiday treat to receive an email just now saying we’ve been shortlisted in the PR Company of the Year category of The Drinks Business Awards 2010. We’re up against some stiff competition so we’re not counting any chickens, but fingers are firmly crossed!

Focus PR shortlisted for PR Company of the Year Award
Friday, April 30th, 2010Molton House welcomes new CVTF500 members
Friday, April 30th, 2010
Last night saw the blossoming of a new relationship as private members’ club Molton House offered The Courvoisier The Future 500 network (CVTF500) a complimentary annual membership to the venue. To celebrate the new affiliation, Molton House hosted an exclusive soirée for members to come and experience the venue for themselves. The Courvoisier team from Focus PR was there to take part in the action as well, and what an experience it was.Â
The décor of Molton House was designed by CVTF500 member Tim Mutton, co founder and MD of design company Blacksheep who also designed the interior of Ministry of Sound and the Metropolitan Hotel & Met Bar to name just three. Decked out in lavish fabrics and furnishings, with flawless service and stylishly-dressed staff, it was clear to see why it was awarded the Best Members Club in London at the London Club Awards 2009.
The bar served a selection of Courvoisier cocktails (what else?) garnished with a Courvoisier clip (designed by member Lee Broom) which also made a rather stylish hair clip! The atmosphere was electric, with people scattered around the place eagerly networking with one another and most likely conjuring up new business ventures. The highlight of the evening was a sensory experience with Courvoisierâs brand ambassador Rebecca Asseline. Oozing French style, Rebecca took us on a journey of the senses, spritzing the air with delicious scents of candied orange, iris and crème brûlée. She then asked us to taste our glass of Courvoisier XO and the flavours seemed to explode in our mouths!
Collection 2000 signs Athena Skouvakis
Friday, April 30th, 2010
We’re chuffed to announce that we’ve just signed up Athena Skouvakis as Collection 2000âs official makeup artist for a second year running. If youâre trying to remember where youâve heard the name Athena before you could have spotted it in the credits for some of the stunning beauty shoots in Look magazine recently. Sheâs also well known for creating super glam makeup looks for ad campaigns for brands like Levis, and is a regular fixture backstage at high profile fashion shows from Dior and Versace to Viktor & Rolf and PPQ. Sheâs also painted some of our favourite celeb beauties like Sugababes and Alexa Chung.Â
Weâve lots of exciting things planned for Athena and Collection 2000 this year so watch this spaceâ¦
