Home is where the Art is at Bristol

Just hanging around, waiting for the visitors to start flocking in

News just in – yet another visitor record was smashed again this year when more than 7,000 visitors passed through the doors of the Affordable Art Fair’s Bristol event last weekend.  Final sales figures are still being tallied, but are looking strong, and up on the 2009 fair.  We were down there on Thursday doing our bit to help with the set-up, and fielding the media who were clamouring to interview Nicky Wheeler, the Fair director.

Everyone from gallery owners, fair assistants, radio crews, and newspaper journalists were all bustling around doing their thing – painting stands, moving artworks and conducting interviews. Meanwhile we were hard at work putting up our ever-growing press coverage wall… upping the ante each fair isn’t easy!

Now Bristol may be much smaller in scale than the London AAFs, but it’s perfectly formed and a key date in the local arts calendar.  So if you didn’t make this one, check out the AAF website for the next instalment of the original and best affordable art event.
