2011 marks 100 years since the introduction of the Spirit of Ecstasy, the famous âflying ladyâ who adorns the front of every Rolls-Royce Motor Car.
Last week, Focus PR and a selection of journalists travelled to the Rolls-Royce headquarters and factory in Goodwood to see 100 beautiful Rolls-Royce motor cars from 1911 to the present on display, giving a rare insight into the transformation of the historic car over the past 100 years.
As part of the celebrations to mark the centenary of the Spirit of Ecstasy, Rolls-Royce owners and enthusiasts from around the country drove their cars and joined in the celebrations at the plant. All the visitors  enjoyed a grand picnic and classic afternoon tea as well as a tour of the manufacturing plant. The day was topped off by a historic line up and parade lap at Goodwood Motor Circuit of all the beautiful cars from past and present.
We were also able to give the media an exclusive look at some of the images taken by Rankin, commissioned to celebrate the centenary and exploring Rankinâs contemporary interpretation of the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy.
