Vespa joins in the Summer of Love in Carnaby Street

Monday, June 7th, 2010

Last weekend saw Carnaby Street celebrate its 50th anniversary with the Summer of Love festival in the London sunshine. As a fashion icon of the 60s and the ultimate mod accessory, Vespa was present to help bring the festivities to life with a display of two of its stunning scooters from the 2010 range.

The sleek metallic black ‘Via Montenapoleone’ and the beautiful blue ‘Celeste Glamour’ drew looks of admiration from the Carnaby Street crowds as they soaked up the mod-inspired atmosphere. Live music and a procession of over 1,000 vintage scooters through the main street completed a perfect weekend.

To celebrate the anniversary, Vespa is offering one lucky winner the chance to own on a gorgeous, retro-inspired scooter. For your chance to win a Vespa S College 50cc, complete with helmet and a one day CBT (compulsory basic training course) – enter on line at www.carnarbystreet.co.uk/prizedraw by 30 June 2010.

Maker’s + The Machine hits Shoreditch

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

Maker’s Mark bourbon has well and truly made its mark amongst the Shoreditch and City crowd, with its unique ‘Maker’s + the Machine’ pop-up event.

Billed as the world’s most inefficient yet mouth-watering vending machine, for three days in May Maker’s + the Machine popped-up to offer Londoners the chance to try one of a choice of three Maker’s Mark bourbon whisky cocktails. However, this was not for the passer-by looking to order a cocktail on the fly. Instead of dispensing a drink in the way you might expect from a vending machine, each cocktail was prepared with due care and attention by a highly qualified bartender located inside! The result was the freshest, most tantalising of bourbon tasting experiences, as well as gasps of surprise from passing punters as a hand appeared at the bottom of the vending machine with their order. And of course Focus PR was on hand to communicate the red headed theme (the top of each Maker’s bottle is hand-dipped in red wax)!

Maker’s + the Machine will be rolled out beyond London in the coming months – stay tuned on twitter.com/MakersMachine to find out where!
