Sauza’s great shakes

Sunday, September 19th, 2010

Sauza ShakerThis month marks 200 years since Mexican independence and Sauza Tequila has got into the spirit of the celebrations.

The Sauza Shaker is a fun, new alternative to traditional cocktail pitchers and a great way to enjoy the authentic flavour of Mexico. Known as “Nuestro Tequila” – “Our Tequila”, the Sauza Shaker will be available in bars across the country for everyone to mix their own margarita cocktails. For the very first time, you can shake the cocktail yourself when asking for a margarita cocktail. When you order the Sauza Shaker, the bartender will hand you your very own shaker filled with all the required ingredients to make a delicious margarita cocktail for you to shake up and serve at your table.

Each Shaker will serve four cocktails – the perfect amount for sharing with friends – margarita cocktails have never been so much fun!  The national spirit of Mexico, tequila, in a margarita cocktail demonstrates how delicious it can be when in a stylish long drink.

Client quote of the week (and it’s only Tuesday)

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

This may have a touch of ‘blowing our own trumpet’ about it (for which we apologise), but we’ve had a lovely email from Jen McLaren at Maxxium following the Sauza pop-up tattoo parlour event:

“I’d just like to say a HUGE thanks for Sunday. It was one of the best (and most enjoyable) events I’ve overseen in a long time and I really appreciated all of the help and support both along the way and on the day itself. I’ve been really impressed with Focus since I began working with you all but Sunday exceeded all of my expectations. Cheers ladies, it was a real pleasure!”

We blush.

Tattoo parlour draws the crowds

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

No less than 2,000 of the Shoreditch fraternity came along yesterday as part of our Drink consumer engagement activity for Sauza tequila., enjoying complimentary Hornitos Paloma cocktails and temporary tattoos. Stationed just off Brick Lane, the Focus PR team, suitably decked out in body art and glitter, hosted the one-day only Hornitos pop-up tattoo parlour with the Sauza team from Maxxium led by Jen McLaren, who ran a very jolly and efficient sampling bar.

DJ sets created the vibe and plenty of samplers added their own graffiti to our urban art wall which was ably kicked off by the Graffiti Kings.  The winning ‘tattoo-ed’ bottle from our recent competition with Skindeep and Tattoo Master had pride of place on a pedestal and four of the runner-up bottle designs were on display as well. You’ll have a second chance to view them next weekend too – they’ll be on display at Tattoo Jam, Doncaster Racecourse 6-8 August.

If you’d like to make your very own Paloma, here’s the recipe: to one measure of Hornitos Reposado tequila add a measure of fresh grapefruit juice.  Squeeze in some fresh lime, pour into a tall glass containing ice and a lime wedge, then top up with lemonade.  Delicious!

And if you’re tempted to dabble in some (temporary) body art of your own, contact Contraband Events.
