Vespa joins in the Summer of Love in Carnaby Street

Monday, June 7th, 2010

Last weekend saw Carnaby Street celebrate its 50th anniversary with the Summer of Love festival in the London sunshine. As a fashion icon of the 60s and the ultimate mod accessory, Vespa was present to help bring the festivities to life with a display of two of its stunning scooters from the 2010 range.

The sleek metallic black ‘Via Montenapoleone’ and the beautiful blue ‘Celeste Glamour’ drew looks of admiration from the Carnaby Street crowds as they soaked up the mod-inspired atmosphere. Live music and a procession of over 1,000 vintage scooters through the main street completed a perfect weekend.

To celebrate the anniversary, Vespa is offering one lucky winner the chance to own on a gorgeous, retro-inspired scooter. For your chance to win a Vespa S College 50cc, complete with helmet and a one day CBT (compulsory basic training course) – enter on line at www.carnarbystreet.co.uk/prizedraw by 30 June 2010.

Westfield's window display

Two of the UK’s most prestigious shopping destinations have recently unveiled their summer window displays – the focal point of both being iconic Vespa scooters.  Westfield London and Selfridges Manchester have chosen models from the bright and colourful 2010 Vespa range, including the Vespa LX in pretty pink and glamorous baby blue. Selfridges Manchester opted for the pink and baby blue scooters to form a display themed around summer pastels. Westfield London selected three Vespas as the centre piece of an Italian-themed window display in the Village area of the mall.  We’ve negotiated for the scooters to be on display throughout June and July, during which time they will be seen by the thousands of fashion-conscious shoppers that pass through each day. Make sure you head down to either destination to get a sneak peak of these gorgeous scooters in the flesh!
